PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER AND FOUNDER

To All Who Seek a Unique Expedition, I have worked as a guide on Mount Kilimanjaro for over 23 years. Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru is located on either side of my home, since birth. I am of the Meru tribe, and I take great pride in my homeland.

I started farming with my father at a young age. We had a farm near the Kilimanjaro airport, and I would watch airplanes come in and out of the airport all day long. I could see Mt. Kilimanjaro from our farm on a clear day without clouds, and knew that people were coming to our country to climb the mountain. At an early age, I wanted to become a guide, and be able to climb the mountain myself.

I went to Mt. Meru Tour Guide College and received my certification training. That was more than 23 years ago. I have been with the same company ever since, and now I have a desire to run my own company. I love to hike and be in nature, and I would like to share this beautiful mountain with people from all over the world. My goal is to help others enjoy the trip and make it to the top, even when they are tired and exhausted. My company is dedicated to help hikers reach the peak of the mountain, by meeting their needs.

In the last 23 years, I have continually hiked the mountain, farmed my land, married to the love of my life, had 3 kids, and have now taken on 3 more children from a family member. I have been blessed, and I would like to continue to be a blessing to others.

I have a passion to start my own company in order to give people a unique experience in not only climbing the mountain, but sharing the country and people of Tanzania with them. If foreigners want to experience more than reaching the top of Africa’s tallest mountain and the world’s tallest free-standing mountain, then I would like to make that available to them.

My wife and I share a passion for children, and especially, when it deals with education. We have both grown up in a country where it is hard to make it all the way through secondary education, let alone primary school. We would like to see as many children as possible have the opportunity to get an education. My wife is an educator and has a college degree. In building this expedition company, we are dedicated in giving 10% of all our profits to educating children in need. We will choose children that may never have the chance to go to school. Our goal is to give back to our community and country by helping the children.

I would like to provide you with real and honest information about the mountain and its people. In addition, I want to present to you a unique opportunity to have a hand in providing children with education and livelihood. So that, they may have the opportunity to experience what has been given to me.
